The Udaiti Foundation, in partnership with MannDeshi Foundation and Women Entrepreneurship Platform (WEP), hosted a roundtable discussion on making enterprise finance work for women entrepreneurs, on 28 August 2023 in Mumbai. The roundtable convened a diverse array of stakeholders from both banking and non-banking financial sectors, united in their endeavour to revolutionise enterprise finance for women entrepreneurs. With the collective objective of catalysing capital for women-owned enterprises, the discussion dissected pertinent topics such as inclusive financial initiatives, measurable impact targets, and leveraging digital public infrastructure like ONDC to enhance credit accessibility. The event spotlighted the significance of sensitising lending institutions to gender-intentional financial tools, while also exploring strategies to harness blended finance for women-owned businesses.

The sessions deliberated on gender-intentional solutions, streamlined value chains, and the untapped potential of schemes like SIDBI’s CGTMSE, recognizing the diversity of women entrepreneurs, accounting for geographical and sectoral disparities. The discussion's expected outcomes encompass a roadmap to amplify women's enterprise growth, fostering a shared commitment to increase credit allocation for women entrepreneurs, and presenting a robust approach paper on the adoption of gender-intentional financial instruments.
